The Scholarship Program —an educational scholarship given to a Hillsborough county high school student who has demonstrated dedication to community service. The applicant must be a graduating senior and needs to have accumulated at least 250 community service hours during his or her high school career. Also the applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
It’s time for our Annual Scholarship
TO BE ACCEPTED APPLICANTS MUST:
1. Be a Hillsborough County Resident
2. Be actively involved in community service, at least 250 hours during high school career (Community Service hours MUST be reflected on the transcript)
3. Be a graduating senior planning to attend an institution of higher learning (University, College, Jr. College, Technical School)
4. Have a GPA of 2.5 or higher DEADLINE for application is 4/1!!!!!
VDR’s Emergency Food Pantry
Providing groceries to those in need of one-time or short-term food assistance.
According to Florida Hunger Statistics, in Hillsborough County alone, there are approximately 200,590 people who are suffering from hunger. That’s about 17.2 percent of residents living in Hillsborough County. We have partnered with Feeding America in creation of an emergency food pantry for residents in the Tampa Bay area. The pantry is for families going through a crisis and needing assistance with nutritional needs. The Pantry is open on Tuesdays 12:00 pm -2:00 pm, Thursdays 12:00pm -2:00 pm and Saturdays 12:00 pm-2:00 pm.
